WORDS OF WISDOM: WILLIAM JENNINGS BRYAN

After attending Sherry Peel Jackson’s seminar last Friday, I feel as though I am armed with new information that I can pass on to others. I left the seminar with an armload of books. Ms. Jackson revealed many of the tricks and underhanded tactics used by banks and by the IRS to fleece the public of more of its money. Although it is extremely important to pray and to have a connection to the divine, it is also important for us to be willing participants in our own lives.

I believe a paradigm shift is necessary for us to get out of the mindset that we are to go to school, get good grades, graduate, obtain a good job, work on that job for 40 years, and retire with a pension. As far as I’m concerned that paradigm died a decade or so ago. I believe that people can create the lives of their dreams by taking action; by knowing that they have unlimited potential and it is up to the individual how he or she develops that potential. Having a home-based business, for example, can protect you somewhat from the exploitation of the IRS by giving you a greater amount of tax write-offs.

Our lives are shaped and molded by the choices we make. No one is destined to be a failure. We create our own destiny. The following is a quote from American orator and politician, William Jennings Bryan:

“Destiny is no matter of chance. It is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for.   It is a thing to be achieved.”
