The following statement was written as the opening
to my Master’s Thesis in Fine Art:
INTRODUCTION TO MASTER’S THESIS IN FINE ART
I have always been interested in and fascinated by art. Whoever was responsible for inventing the word, “ubiquitous” and incorporating it into the English language certainly must have had art in mind because art is literally everywhere. It is in the buildings we live and work in, the cars we drive, and even in the clothes we wear, from a fashionable felt fedora right down to the shoes on our feet. Historically, art provides us with a window through which we can examine our past; we can study ancient cultures that tell us stories about our predecessors, thus providing us with another window that gives us the ability to peer into the future. Art saturates every waking moment of our lives. It is even in our dreams.
